I've just taken time out to play the records you sent. Well, they just show what the great bands of the 1920s must have sounded like when they were in the studio!  They really are beautiful, and I wish there were some bands here that sounded so grand.  They sound so relaxed, so warm, and that is where they score over other 1920s-style bands - so many of them sound so tightly-bound to the music, they forget to enjoy it! (I've heard most of them; believe me, so I know what I'm talking about)

Milan Lasica a Bratislava Hot Serenaders

 

Název Bratislava Hot Serenaders vyvolává romantické představy, které tato kapela svou hudbou mění v nádhernou akustickou skutečnost.. Perfektní rekonstrukcí americké jazzové klasiky 20. a 30. let i slovenských populárních a tanečních písniček první poloviny 20. století uvádí posluchače do říše hudebních divů. V tomto světě neexistuje AIDS, krize, mobily, bulvární média, supermarkety, superstars, atentátníci, piráti, skinheadi, hackeři, političtí samorosti, náboženští, národnostní nebo kluboví fanatici ani jiná podobná havěť. Tady potkáte převážně v salonním prostředí pouze elegantní bytosti, pro které je vybrané chování v duchu zásad společenského katechismu samozřejmostí. Dámy jsou krásné, voňavé, někdy rafinované, jindy prostince nevinné, ale vždycky až k uzoufání svůdné. Pánové jsou gentlemansky korektní a bez ohledu na fyziognomii démonicky přitažliví.

Že je to jenom iluze? Možná, ale já na takové hudební iluzionisty nedám dopustit. Jejich umění baví víc než kousky Davida Copperfielda nebo kouzelníci, kteří na pódiu cirkulárkou porcují a pak zase scelují hezké slečny. Virtuální realitu zlatého jazzového věku vytváří orchestr Bratislava Hot Serenaders pod vedením Juraje Bartoše díky talentu, muzikantské poctivosti a zápalu instrumentalistů a zpěváků. Když tyto kvality ještě vylepší Milan Lasica přidanou hodnotou v podobě skvěle namíchané směsi intelektu, šarmu, ironie a láskyplného vztahu k repertoáru, je účinek takové hudební magie zaručený.

Zjistil jsem, že písničky v podání Milana Lasici a orchestru Bratislava Hot Serenaders na mne působí blahodárněji než dovolená v Thajsku. Jejich alba jsou ve srovnání se zájezdem do Thajska daleko levnější, při jejich přehrávání mi nehrozí žádné přírodní ani letecké katastrofy a na rozdíl od thajského jazyka rozumím ve slovenštině každému slovu. Proto se na každou jejich novou nahrávku nesmírně těším.
